Building owners turn their floor plans into a searchable map — walkways, shops, rooms, exits and the escalators and lifts that link the floors — and print a QR code for every entrance and corridor. A visitor scans a code, searches for where they are going, and follows a step-by-step route. The same codes double as the building's evacuation system: when an emergency is declared they switch to showing the fastest way out.

Do I need to install an app?

No. AlertUp runs entirely in your phone's browser. Scanning a code opens that floor's map straight away, with nothing to download and no account required.

How does it find a shop on another floor?

When the building is mapped, the escalators, lifts and stairs are linked between floors. If you search for a shop upstairs, AlertUp works out the whole journey: the walk to the right escalator, which floor to get off at, and the walk to the shop. Each leg is shown on its own floor plan, and you confirm when you arrive — or rescan a code on the new floor, which re-anchors the route automatically.

Can it avoid stairs and escalators?

Yes. Ask for a step-free route and AlertUp routes through lifts and level walkways instead. If no step-free route exists, it still gives you a route rather than nothing, and tells you plainly that the journey includes stairs or an escalator.

What happens during an emergency?

Someone with permission puts the building into emergency mode. Every screen already open updates within moments, and every new scan opens the route to the nearest emergency exit instead of the shop search. If a visitor is already safe they can dismiss the alert and keep browsing, but a warning bar stays on screen until the emergency is resolved.

How do I add my building?

Create a free account, add the building and a plan for each floor, then use the map editor to place walkways, mark shops and exits, and link the floors. AlertUp generates a printable QR code for every location. Your first building is free; larger portfolios and enterprise sites are on paid plans.
